Dr. Aaron Ambrad is a highly esteemed, board-certified Radiation Oncologist who has been a vital part of Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers for nearly 20 years. He is a first-generation Colombian American and is the 13th of 15 doctors in his family.

Dr. Ambrad earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He then completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in 2004, where he distinguished himself as Chief Resident. Dr. Ambrad utilizes the latest advanced technologies such as Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), and stereotactic radiation (SBRT) with a particular focus on treating breast, prostate, lung, head and neck, gastrointestinal (GI), and skin cancers.  Dr. Ambrad brings extensive expertise to his practice and the oncology community. He has made significant contributions to brain cancer research, with several publications to his credit. Additionally, he is actively involved in multiple clinical trials and serves as a mentor for medical students.

Dr. Ambrad is highly regarded by his patients for his dedication and compassionate bedside manner. He has been recognized with a 10-year excellence award by Phoenix Magazine, having been named a “Top Doc” in 2012, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
