Andrei Balandin, MD

Dr. Balandin joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in September 2014.  He received his medical degree in the Ukraine. He also was awarded a prestigious scholarship sponsored by the US Government and was studying at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he graduated from a MPH program.

Dr. Balandin also worked overseas (including Russia and Kazakhstan) helping local public health services. After moving to Louisiana he completed his residency and fellowship at Louisiana State University and became board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.  Dr. Balandin has special interest in gastrointestinal malignancies. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology. He is married and has two children. In his spare time Dr. Balandin enjoys reading, photography, and travel.  He is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian.
