Dr. Monique Chang joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in August 2006. Dr. Chang is a board-certified medical oncologist who specializes in breast malignancies and hematologic disorders. Her practice is focused on the prevention of recurrence after surgery and treatment of recurrences. She is sensitive to the unique needs and issues that can arise during and after cancer therapies in older adult patients. She enrolls patients on clinical trials available to all patients at Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers and at present is an investigator in research trials . These studies aim to develop better hormone therapies, improve chemotherapy drugs, and develop more effective and less toxic therapies.
Dr. Chang completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at SUNY Stony Brook – Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. She earned her medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in June 2000. Dr. Chang is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology. She has been selected by her professional peers as a Top Doc in PHOENIX Magazine. She is currently involved in the education of medical students and residents and is an Assistant Professor for Mid western University Internal Medicine and Family Practice Residency program at Mountain Vista Medical Center.
