Dr. Robert Yoo was trained in combined hematology and medical oncology fellowship at Karmanos Cancer Institute / Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, MI. During the fellowship, he served a leadership role as a Chief Fellow and participated in various clinical trials and conducted research in tumor biomarker.

He specializes in treating a wide variety of hematologic disorders and solid tumor malignancy, with specific interest in GU tract (prostate, bladder and kidney), GI (liver and colorectal) and lung malignancy. He pursues identifying potential novel molecular targets via blood test and tumor samples so that cancer patients would be able to have more treatment options available. He is dual board certified in both hematology and oncology. He earned his doctorate degree at Michigan State University School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed internal medicine residency at William Beaumont Hospital – Farmington Hills, MI. He is an active member of American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and American Osteopathic Association.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with the family and his adventurous twin boys, doing a wide variety of outdoor activities. Dr. Yoo is bilingual in Korean.
