Fun Summer Mocktails
What better way to beat the heat than with a delicious and refreshing fun summer mocktails. Mocktails can be a healthy alternative for everyone to enjoy. These mock tails can be served at barbeques, baby or bridal showers, birthday parties, brunches or anytime you are feeling like a fancy and fun drink. These mocktails add a festive vibe to any event even if it’s just a night with your girls or date night with your significant other. You can dress these drinks up by adding cute colored salt or sugar on the rim. You can also add a fun umbrella or straw. Below are two fun summer mocktail recipes that can be changed up a bit depending on your choice of flavors, they are easy to make and taste yummy.
Strawberry Basil Bestie
Ingredients
1.5 cups fresh strawberries
4-5 fresh basil leaves
12 oz. seltzer (1 can)
1 lime sliced
Instructions
Wash, hull, and roughly chop the strawberries.
Add the berries and basil leaves to a medium bowl, and muddle them together, you want to make sure the berries are smashed enough to fit through your straw if you are using one, you can put in a blender or you can also use strawberry puree if you would like.
Split the berry mixture between two glasses. Fill the glasses with ice and seltzer (you can use any flavor seltzer you prefer).
Make sure to make your drink look as it good as it taste and garnish your glass with a slice of lime and more fresh basil (both optional). Top off your drinks with more seltzer as needed.
Strawberries are great for boosting your immune system and have anti-inflammatory benefits. Strawberries are very beneficial for our brain and nervous system because they contain iodine. Iodine helps in regulating the proper functioning of our brain and nervous system. Basil also contains anti-inflammatory qualities.
Basil has been known to be a potent antibacterial. Containing just 22 calories per 100 grams, basil is nutrient-heavy and calorie-light. Basil may contain compounds that fight the effects of aging.
Coconut Mojito
Ingredients
½ cup coconut milk light preferred
1 small lime sliced
8 oz. lime flavored seltzer
15-20 mint leaves
¼ cup flakey sea salt (optional)
Instructions
Salt Rim the Glasses (optional)
Cut the lime in half and run one piece along the edge of each glass. Pour sea salt in a shallow dish and dip each glass in.
Split the mint leaves between 2 glasses.
Juice the lime and pour half of the juice into each glass.
Coconut milk is a rich source of vitamins and minerals. It has antioxidants and is rich in lauric acid. It protects the heart and supports healthy skin and hair. Mint aids in healthy digestion and is great for nausea. Mint is also known to improve your memory and fight depression and fatigue.
