Celebrating Jennifer Bernt, DNP, FNP-C, AOCNP: Achieving Her DNP and Advancing Cancer Care

We are thrilled to announce a major milestone in the professional journey of Jennifer Bernt, DNP, FNP-C, AOCNP, as she achieves her DNP. Her dedication to advancing cancer care has been an inspiration to all, and her latest achievement marks yet another testament to her commitment to improving patient outcomes.

As part of her doctoral work, Jennifer has contributed to the research and development of A Pilot Program Implementing an Evidence-Based Walking Plan to Improve Cancer-Related Fatigue in Adult Patients on Oral Cancer Treatments.” This innovative program focuses on addressing cancer-related fatigue (CRF), a common and often debilitating side effect of cancer therapies. Fatigue can significantly impact a patient’s quality of life, especially for those undergoing oral cancer treatments. The goal of Jennifer’s project is to explore how structured physical activity, particularly walking, can alleviate fatigue and improve the well-being of cancer patients.

The walking plan developed in this pilot program is based on evidence-backed research, highlighting the potential of moderate exercise to manage CRF. By empowering patients to incorporate regular walking into their routine, the program aims to enhance energy levels, reduce the severity of fatigue, and support overall health. Early results from the program indicate promising improvements in patients’ physical and emotional health, demonstrating that even small steps can have a big impact.

Jennifer Bernt’s contribution to this project exemplifies her passion for oncology nursing and patient care. Her focus on providing practical, evidence-based solutions to improve the lives of those affected by cancer has the potential to reshape supportive care approaches for patients on oral cancer treatments.

This accomplishment not only reflects her dedication to ongoing learning but also her commitment to driving forward meaningful change in cancer treatment. We congratulate Jennifer on her remarkable achievement and look forward to seeing how her work continues to benefit patients and advance the field of oncology.
