Dr. James Ewing specializes in genitourinary and gastrointestinal malignancies. He is board-certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine. He attended the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine for medical school and got his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) in Texas and completed his fellowship in medical oncology at the Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas.
Dr. Ewing was born and raised in Tempe, AZ and is a fourth generation Arizonan. He has been practicing in the valley at Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers since 2013. Dr. Ewing has been recognized by his peers as a Phoenix Magazine Top Doctor.
Dr. Ewing values patient relationships and is dedicated to personalized cancer care, utilizing advanced treatment options with particular interest in targeted therapy and immunotherapy. He ensures that patients understand their diagnosis, prognosis, treatment options in a collaborative manner and believes in a patient-centered approach to cancer care.
Dr. Ewing is an avid sports fan, enjoys golf, playing basketball, and is an Arizona Cardinals season ticket holder.
